What the extension accesses
LumaNote Transcript Capture runs only on standard YouTube watch pages and the public LumaNote Library. When you request a capture, it reads the video ID, page title, visible timed transcript rows, transcript language, and capture time. It does not download video or audio, read unrelated browsing history, or run on other websites.
How the capture is used
The extension temporarily stores one pending transcript on your device, opens the matching LumaNote workspace, and hands the capture to that page over the browser's local extension-to-page messaging. If you are signed in and complete the import, LumaNote sends the transcript over HTTPS to your account-scoped workspace so it can provide transcript search, AI video summaries, highlights, and notes.
Retention and control
The extension removes a pending capture after LumaNote confirms a successful import. An unfinished capture expires after 24 hours and is removed the next time the extension or LumaNote handoff runs. Imported transcripts remain in your LumaNote account until you replace or delete the source, or delete your account. The Account page lets you export or permanently delete your stored learning data.
Sharing and service providers
LumaNote does not sell user data, use it for credit decisions, or share it for targeted advertising. Cloudflare provides application hosting, account-scoped database storage, and AI summary processing. Google provides sign-in for the LumaNote web application. These services process data only to operate the user-facing product, maintain security, and provide the features you request.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use
LumaNote's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Extension data is used only to provide or improve the transcript-to-learning-workspace feature described to the user.
