What the extension accesses
LumaNote Learning Capture runs only on standard YouTube watch pages and the public LumaNote Library. Transcript capture reads the video ID, page title, visible timed transcript rows, language, and capture time. Snapshot capture reads the currently visible LumaNote tab only after an explicit extension action or keyboard shortcut, then crops the Focus-mode video player. It does not download video or audio, read unrelated browsing history, or run on other websites.
For Chrome Web Store disclosure, these user-selected page identifiers are classified as limited web history, and the transcript and Snapshot are classified as website content. LumaNote does not monitor or retain a general list of websites the user visits.
How the capture is used
The extension temporarily stores one pending transcript on your device and hands captures to the matching LumaNote page through local extension messaging. A captured Snapshot remains in page memory until you add a title and choose Save. Before handoff, the frame is resized and compressed in your browser. Saved Snapshot images, searchable titles, video timestamps, and ownership metadata are sent over HTTPS to the account-scoped Cloudflare D1 database.
Retention and control
The extension removes a pending transcript after LumaNote confirms a successful import. An unfinished transcript expires after 24 hours. Unsaved Snapshot images are discarded from memory when you close or discard the preview. Saved transcripts and Snapshots remain until you delete the item, its source, or your account. The Account page lets you export stored metadata or permanently delete your learning data, including Snapshot images.
Sharing and service providers
LumaNote does not sell user data, use it for credit decisions, or share it for targeted advertising. Cloudflare provides application hosting, account-scoped database storage, and AI summary processing. Google provides sign-in for the LumaNote web application. These services process data only to operate the user-facing product, maintain security, and provide the features you request.
Privacy-minimized product analytics
To understand whether core learning features are useful, LumaNote records at most one entry per account, feature milestone, and UTC day. These entries do not contain video URLs, titles, transcripts, Highlights, Notes, Topic names, searches, IP addresses, or device details. Only an authorized LumaNote administrator can view aggregate account counts and adoption trends. Your own analytics entries are included in your account export and are permanently removed when you delete your account.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use
LumaNote's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Extension data is used only to provide or improve the transcript and Snapshot learning-capture features described to the user.
